College St. Esprit

Ecole St. Barthelemy

Founded in 1957, this is one of the premier schools in Cap Haitien. Whith 250,000 residents, Cap Haitien is the second largest city in Haiti. Situated on the northern coast, it is an important port and center of commerce and industry. This school is one of the oldest in the city and has a history of providing good education to the citizens of the city and surrounding area. For a long time, one of the central features of this school has been the fact that many of the students are too poor to pay their own way, and support is provided through scholarships funded by generous souls in the United States and Canada.

The students study reading and writing French, mathematics, history, geography, natural sciences, drawing, biology, needlework, physical education and Christianity. After seven grades, students graduate and move on to high school or the adjoining Professional School.

Bethlehem Ministry supports 50 students at this school.
