Well Repair in Terrier Rouge

Clean, easily available water is something that many people take for granted, but in Terrier Rouge access to water is of immediate, vital importance. When something goes wrong with the well, it is a serious problem requiring immediate attention. The Center recently had the opportunity to purchase parts to fix the well, and supply the skilled hands to do the work. As you can see, they had lots of local help.

The result was a community effort to repair the well and get the water flowing again. Many different people helped with the repairs, and children had the chance to watch and participate in the repair. Each time the children get the chance to see something like this, it acts as informal training to increase the town's self-sufficiency. The result of this community effort was the resumption of a reliable water supply for this corner of town.
